Unexpected Lullabies, 2010

In this sound installation, audience members sit in a rocking chair one at a time with headphones to listen to 21 unexpected lullabies collected from mothers all over the world.  The songs include new ones that were made up to old melodies, songs we never expected to sing to our children but just suddenly found they soothed them best, and even very inappropriate songs that we sung in a lullaby voice in the middle of the night when we were desperate.
